All non-essential municipal offices, including City Hall, will be closed on February 15 for President's Day.
Bus Service will be open and operate as normally scheduled.  Trash & Recycling pick-up will occur as normally scheduled. 
 
Winter Parking Ban is in effect from December 1 to April 1. During the winter months, public parking lots at Waterman Drive and the Boat Launch at Bug Light Park are available for city residents and their guests to temporarily park during the winter parking ban.
ATTENTION RESIDENTS: The City of South Portland Finance Department (Vehicle Registrations & Tax Payments) at City Hall HAS RELOCATED to the Community Center at 21 Nelson Road South Portland ME 04106 through the end of April 2021.

This will allow us to serve our residents in a more efficient way and allow social distancing measures to continue throughout the winter. The Finance Office is open Monday through Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM and on Thursdays from 8:00AM-6:00PM.
Maine CDC Vaccine Consult Line
The Maine CDC has launched a vaccine consult line to help answer frequently asked questions.  You may call with general COVID-19 vaccination questions to: 866-962-6062. Phone line hours are M-F, 8:00 am-5:00 pm.
This number is NOT for making a vaccination appointment.
It is an informational resource to answer most frequent vaccination-related questions from the public. Questions such as:
1. When and where can I receive a COVID-19 vaccine?
2. When and where can my employees receive COVID-19 vaccines?
3. Which State of Maine COVID-19 vaccination phase do I fall under?
4. Which State of Maine COVID-19 vaccination phase do my employees fall under?
5. Why is (insert occupation) receiving the COVID-19 vaccine ahead of my occupation?
AARP Tax-Aide Assistance

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides in-person and remote tax assistance free of charge to anyone, with a special focus on taxpayers who are 50 or older or who  have low to moderate income. 

Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide, and are trained and IRS-certified every year to make sure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code. Tax help is provided in safe environments using a variety of methods based on a number of factors, including where you are located, COVID-19 spread, and volunteer availability.

South Portland Property Tax Assistance Program

Reminder: You can drop off tax payments in the secure drop off box located in the back of City Hall (25 Cottage Rd). 
On February 9, the City Council was presented with the results of the National Community Survey. The report provides the opinions of 797 residents of the City, collected from November 10, 2020 to December 29, 2020, reporting on ten central facets of the City's "livability".

Anthology: Story Time for Grown-Ups
Join us each Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm starting February 2 through March 30 for Anthology, our new virtual adult story time. Presented in partnership with Scarborough Public Library, and Thomas Memorial Library, sign up to listen to the best poetry, essays, and short fiction read aloud in a fun, lively environment! Each week will feature a different theme and a selection of poems, essays, and fiction chosen for that theme. The South Portland Public Library 2021 Winter Reading Program is here! Running Feb 8 - Mar 15, completed Reading Charts that are emailed to winterreading@SouthPortlandLibrary.com will add to a donation to the South Portland Food Cupboard thanks to the generosity of the Friends of South Portland Public Library.
