The South Portland Police Honor Guard consists of Police Officers who volunteer to represent the department during functions such as parades, official ceremonies, and funerals for Law Enforcement Officers.
The goal of the Honor Guard unit is to render honors, preserve tradition, and instill pride. The Honor Guard is broken up into two sections, The Honor Guard and Color Guard. The Honor Guard participates in funerals for current Law Enforcement Officers or retired ones. The Color Guard participates in parades, swearing in ceremonies dedication ceremonies and other Law Enforcement and civilian events.
